Performers Heather Parth - Troupe Coordinator
As a former member of the Jacksonville Ghetto Swingers (JGS), and now Coordinator for Syncopated Rhythm, Heather has been dancing for 9 years. She is self taught, and now dances East Coast Swing, ballroom, and Latin. She has competed and won many local swing dancing competitions, including placing 1st at the UNF Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Concert Competition. Her specialties are Cha cha and East Coast Swing, and her signature move is the Martini Sipper lift. Chris Ackerman - Dance Manager
Chris started his dance training 15 years ago in ballet, tap, jazz, and modern during his youth, and later picked up East Coast Swing, Salsa/Mambo, Cha cha, Waltz and Tango at clubs. He has also received dance training through Florida Community College at Jacksonville. His preference is East Coast swing, and his signature move is the Martini Sipper lift. Chris has also won numerous local competitions, including 1st place at the UNF Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Concert, and 2nd place in the Jacksonville charity event, Swinging with the Stars. Starting as a jazz musician, Sean became involved in swing dancing after watching audience members dancing at a performance. He has taught himself East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Hustle, and the Ballroom disciplines. Later, he branched out into Latin through studio instruction. He has competed at a couple of local events over his 9 years of dancing experience, but believes in “…dancing for the sake of dancing.” His specialties include West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Charleston, Latin, and the Hustle, and he is best known for his dramatically timed dips. Training at Dance Elite and One Step Beyond studios, Jerald has progressed through the ballroom basics to his current Silver Level. In addition to dancing East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, and Lindy Hop basic, he has trained in all ballroom and Latin disciplines. He has competed at the Silver Level, taking 1st and Superior at the First Coast Mini Match in Jacksonville and has participated in Pro-Am Ballroom/Latin/Swing competitions. He prefers Latin dances, and has 9 years dancing experience. Chris Duguid
Self taught, Chris has specialized in the Lindy Hop. He also knows East and West Coast Swing. He has 5 years experience, and has traveled around the country with his wife, Toni, to dance. Toni Duguid
Toni has been dancing for 9 years, and knows East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, and Collegiate Shag. She also can socially dance most ballroom and Latin. She has competed in Jacksonville, and has performed at local events and charities. Toni has also traveled coast to coast with her husband, Chris, to dance. Her specialty is the Lindy Hop Bryant Hardwick
Bryant has been dancing for 9 years, and has taught himself East and West Coast Swing. His specialty is rockabilly-style East Coast swing. He generally forgoes competition for performing at numerous regional events and charities, and his signature move is a Texas Tommy combined with a reverse spin and personal styling Bill Horst
While he doesn’t consider any specific discipline his specialty, Bill’s 11 years of dancing experience have led him to become a well-rounded dancer. He has received training at the St. Augustine Academy of Performing Arts, Dance Elite, and Boleros. He has experience in ballet, jazz, ballroom, Latin, and the swing dances, and has performed in the Jacksonville production of the Nutcracker. Currently, he teaches both private and group ballroom lessons in St. Augustine, in addition to performing with Syncopated Rhythm. Katherine Moore
Katherine was introduced in early childhood to ballet, and proceeded to study and perform tap, jazz, and lyrical in high school. She has trained at both Fred Astaire studio and Boleros, and now has eight years experience in ballroom and Latin dancing. Katherine learned East Coast Swing with partner/fellow troupe member Bryant Hardwick, and considers her specialty the cha cha. She states her signature move is "...not stepping on any toes." |
